Memorial Day Parade 2011

Eve's Daisy troop

Reuben's baseball team

Kaitlyn's baseball team

This year three of the kids were able to be in the Memorial Parade in our town. Eve was so excited for about a week before that she was going to be able to be in the parade this year. Ryan had to work so Lincoln and I cheered of the kids from the sidelines.

School Halloween Parade

On Friday the Elementary put on a parade around the streets surrounding the school. I love this yearly tradition to see all of the cute kids so excited and dressed up in their costumes.

When Eve woke up that morning she could hardly contain her excitement for the parade. She was convinced that she was going to be able to ride in a truck and wave to everyone and throw candy. (She has watched Kaitlyn and Reuben in our town's Memorial Day Parade for a couple of years and thought that this parade was the Memorial Day one.) It was pretty cute.

Eve wanted to be Ariel this year. I totally lucked out and found this costume at our local grocery store for $3.99! (I love a good deal!!) Reuben had a hard time making up his mind this year. He ended up being four different things, one costume for each party/event we went to. Luckily he used stuff we had at home because this had potential of getting pretty expensive. So, at school he dressed up as a spy (suit coat and Ryan's fedora). Reuben did such a good job blending in that I didn't get a good picture of him during the parade. This is the best I was able to get.

Memorial Day Parade

Every year our small town has a parade on Memorial Day. Kaitlyn and Reuben were able to be in the parade again this year with their baseball teams. Evie and Lincoln have fun picking up the candy that is thrown by everyone in the parade.

Our friend who has a position in the city borrowed Ryan's truck for the parade

Trick-Or-Treat

On Friday The kids had a Halloween parade at school followed by parties in their classrooms. Here are some pictures of the kids in the parade with their friends.

This year Kaitlyn wanted to be a banana and Reuben wanted to be an eyeball. So I kinda guessed as I sewed and came up with these. All of the costumes are made of felt which made the project easier not having to worry about turning under edges. Evie and Lincoln got to wear hand-me-down costumes from Kates and Reuben. They look pretty cute as my little monsters, I think. They both loved wearing the costumes and liked to growl in them.

Memorial Day Parade

I love that we live in a small town for reasons like this.  Kaitlyn and Reuben were in the town parade on Memorial Day with their baseball teams.

Lincoln was super cute.  He never went farther in the street than this.  He just stood there and soaked in everything.  Lincoln was dancing to the music when it passed by.  I wish that I had brought a video camera!

Cheering from the sidelines

Eve and Evan had fun picking up candy from people throwing it in the parade.

We were so lucky to go to the parade with our wonderful friends/neighbors!
